Jake Stoltzfus, Owner

Jake has been in the home building and remodeling business for over 30 years, helping to create hundreds of beautiful spaces in Lancaster and Chester County. Prior to starting JKS & CO he owned and operated an outdoor living and hardscape company. His unique and specialized insight applies to both indoor and outdoor renovations.

JKS & CO was created with his wife Janelle and together they are proud to offer their Design + Build concept within one company brand. He brings his incredible work ethic, thorough construction knowledge, integrity and customer satisfaction and loves serving his clients and teammates with excellence and care.

Jake enjoys reading, playing guitar, being outdoors with his family and friends at the beach or on the ski slopes. He loves creative problem solving, investing in real estate, and is a never-ending student of life. Bringing transformation to homes is one of his greatest pleasures.

Janelle Stoltzfus, Owner

Janelle has a deep appreciation for all things home. She thrives on making spaces come to life by envisioning their greatest potential, warmth and beauty. As a Mother to 5 school-aged children she knows the power of implementing creative, yet functional design.

She loves bringing vision and care to the spaces that are entrusted to her. She works closely with her husband Jake + their team to implement each project down to the final detail. Her reward is to create a haven of rest for you through approachable and timeless design.

In her free time, she loves to entertain friends and family at their property and nurture her home and children. She is an insatiable reader and learner. As a quintessential entrepreneur, she has also founded and grown a nationwide home and lifestyle company, Millstream Home where she is proud to sell locally manufactured,
American Made wares.

Kevin Hurst, Operations Manager

Kevin’s career in construction began at a young age and for many years he worked in various labor and management roles within the industry. At age 26 he started his own company which he grew and managed and eventually sold. For 15 years he has been a licensed Real Estate agent in Pennsylvania and brings a valuable perspective when renovating homes and increasing their value.

Kevin has a talent for bringing creative energy, integrity and order to every project he’s part of. He manages the daily operations and scheduling, as well as bringing general oversight by planning efficiently with excellent customer care and communication. He especially enjoys working with his wife Kelly who is the Lead Designer here at JKS & CO.

He loves spending time with his wife and their nine beautiful children. He enjoys playing sports, riding motorcycle, sitting around a campfire and reading. Together he and Kelly are renovating their 150 year old schoolhouse into the home of their dreams.

Kelly Hurst, Lead Designer

Kelly has been designing spaces for over a decade. She loves the process of drafting homes - it feels like liveable art to her. She believes in creating functional and beautiful rooms while reimaging creative layouts, new flows and structure. As a Mother to many different age groups, she knows the importance of making every corner count and brings her expertise into her home everyday.

She and her husband Kevin are part of the JKS & CO team together and bring a unique perspective as they help render homes, invite clients into the design process and bring visions to life. Her love of architecture and design began at a young age. She has memories as a young girl of playing “architect” with graph paper and her Father’s drafting tools.

Some of Kelly’s favorite pastimes include antiquing with her husband, traveling, walks with her dog, laughing with her children and sharing meals with friends and family. She is passionate about creating a home for her family to grow, thrive and find belonging.
